Eugene, Ore., June 14 – The Road to OR22 runs through The Nike Outdoor Nationals on Friday with an elite men’s 800m.  The Road to OR22 800m will cap off the second day of the 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals with a bonus dose of Hayward Magic, as Olympic middle-distance runners will attempt to run the World Championship ‘A’ standard.

The gun will fire for the 800 at 6:30pm PDT and will be part of the FREE live NON webcast on RunnerSpace.com - LINK

University of Oregon alum Charlie Hunter is looking to achieve the standard of 1:45.20 to compete in Eugene for his native Australia. Racing with him will be his former Duck teammates and USA mid-distance stars Cole Hocker and Cooper Teare – both of whom are top contenders to make Team USA in the 1,500m and/or 5000m, but will drop down for this attempt. All three currently train in Oregon and compete as pros for Nike. Pacemakers will ensure a tempo of 51 seconds for the first lap.
